ECM at AHR 2026: HVAC Motor Innovation, Live

ECM PCB Stator Tech is set to showcase the next generation of HVAC motor innovation live at AHR Expo 2026.

The company returns to the world’s largest HVACR event with an expanded booth and a targeted focus on how software-defined motor design can drive new levels of performance and efficiency in HVAC systems. Attendees will get an up-close look at ECM’s patented PCB Stator technology, which replaces traditional copper windings with a printed circuit board to produce ultra-compact, energy-efficient motors. Lighter, more compact motor designs, improved airflow per watt of power (CFM/W), and simpler integration are just a few system-level benefits delivered by ECM’s approach.

PCB Stator Motor vs a conventional motor

At AHR 2026, ECM will demonstrate how its PCB Stator motors and PrintStator Motor CAD software enable HVAC OEMs to design custom, energy-efficient motors in a fraction of the time. This software-driven approach allows faster design iterations, lower development risk, and more efficient paths from concept to production. By replacing heavy iron and copper components with an ultra-thin PCB stator disc, ECM’s motors can be up to 70% lighter than conventional motors while still exceeding 90% efficiency. In practical terms, HVAC systems can achieve the same or better performance with less material and energy – translating to easier installations and lower operating costs for manufacturers and building engineers.

PCB Stator vs Conventional Copper Wound Stator

Throughout the show, ECM will host live PrintStator software demonstrations at its booth, giving HVAC engineers and product developers a clear view into how application-specific motors can be designed, optimized, and simulated in real time. These demos highlight how teams can reduce iteration cycles, refine designs virtually, and accelerate time-to-market for energy-efficient HVAC solutions without compromising performance. Live demonstrations will feature real-world HVAC applications, including:

  • A PCB Stator bathroom fan system achieving higher airflow per watt (CFM/W) by removing the traditional motor hub from the fan’s squirrel-cage blower.
  • An integrated HVAC pump demo illustrating high efficiency and a remarkably compact form factor made possible by the axial flux PCB Stator design.
  • A 5HP HVAC datacenter fan integration highlighing a drastic. weight and noise reduction whilst not sacraficing efficiency.
